We’re excited to announce our plans to develop AutoTestify, a comprehensive QA testing platform designed to streamline the testing process through AI assistance, Slack integration, and real-time test case management.
The Problem We’re Solving
Quality Assurance is a critical part of software development, but it often comes with several challenges:
- Manual Test Case Creation: Creating test cases manually is time-consuming and often leads to inconsistency.
- Siloed Communication: QA teams often work in isolation, making collaboration difficult.
- Limited Visibility: Project managers and stakeholders lack real-time visibility into testing progress.
- Scattered Documentation: Test cases and results are spread across different tools and platforms.
AutoTestify will address these issues by providing a centralized platform that leverages AI for test case generation, integrates with communication tools like Slack, and offers real-time dashboards for visibility.
Planned Key Features
AutoTestify will include the following key features:
- AI-Assisted Test Case Generation: Upload PRDs and sprint documents to automatically generate comprehensive test cases.
- Slack Integration: Create, update, and view test cases directly from Slack using slash commands.
- Trello Integration: Sync test cases with Trello cards for better project management.
- Real-Time Dashboard: Monitor test case status and results in real-time.
- Collaborative Environment: Work together on test cases with real-time updates.
- Comprehensive Reporting: Generate reports on test coverage, results, and trends.
Planned Technology Stack
We’re planning to build AutoTestify using modern technologies:
- Frontend: Next.js with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS
- Backend: NestJS with TypeScript
- Database: PostgreSQL with TypeORM
- Real-Time Communication: WebSockets with Socket.io
- AI Integration: OpenAI/Claude for test case generation
- Authentication: JWT with Slack OAuth support
Proposed Implementation Timeline
We’ve broken down the implementation into several major phases:
Phase 1: Project Setup and Backend Core (Apr 26 - May 24, 2025)
- Initialize Next.js frontend and NestJS backend
- Set up PostgreSQL database with Docker
- Implement core database models and authentication
- Develop user and project management modules
Phase 2: Integration Services (May 25 - Jun 7, 2025)
- Implement Slack integration for slash commands
- Develop Trello integration for card syncing
- Create AI service for test case generation
- Build document parser for PRDs and sprint docs
Phase 3: Frontend Development (Jun 8 - Jul 12, 2025)
- Set up authentication and core components
- Develop project and sprint management UI
- Create test case management interface
- Implement document upload for AI processing
Phase 4: Real-Time Features and Integration (Jun 22 - Jul 12, 2025)
- Implement WebSocket for real-time updates
- Develop QA dashboard with live status updates
- Create integration UIs for Slack, Trello, and AI
- Add filtering and search functionality
Phase 5: Testing and Deployment (Jul 13 - Jul 26, 2025)
- Write comprehensive unit tests
- Set up CI/CD with GitHub Actions
- Configure deployment to Vercel and Railway
- Create system documentation and user guides
Next Steps
We’re currently finalizing the detailed implementation plan and preparing to start development. Our initial focus will be on:
- Setting up the development environment
- Creating the project structure
- Establishing the database schema
- Building the core authentication framework
We’ll be sharing regular updates as we begin development in late April 2025!
Get Involved
If you have ideas for features you’d like to see in AutoTestify or would be interested in being a beta tester once development begins, please reach out to hello@cendekiapp.com. We’re excited to build a tool that makes testing more efficient and collaborative for everyone involved in the development process.
